Bio

I started my experiments in floral design in 2016, quickly establishing Wild Veggie Bouquet, a dynamic floral design company based in Corpus Christi, TX. My business has thrived, receiving the Locals List award for the best florist in town in 2020, 2022, and 2023. Since 2019, I've been dedicated to floral design education, initiating a series of hands-on workshops that have become a popular form of entertainment in our city. One of my most significant classes to date was at the annual ATAT conference in 2021, where I led a hands-on flower crown-making session for 135 attendees.

I've been a member of the Texas State Florists Association (TSFA) since 2019 and was honored to be elected Retail Director of TSFA in 2023. My work featured in various publications including VOGUE Italy and Florists' Review, Texas Gardener magazine, Texas in Bloom, The One Bride Guide and more During the 2020 pandemic, I focused on education, earning my Texas Master Florist credential in 2021. I earned my CFD in 2023 and took the PFDE exam in Orlando in 2024. I'm thrilled to have been invited to become an accredited member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in 2025.

What Is Your Approach To Design?

My approach to floral design is rooted in creating visually harmonious and emotionally resonant arrangements that reflect both the occasion and the unique preferences of my clients. I carefully select flowers based on their seasonality, color, and texture. I try to include locally sourced and seasonal flowers whenever possible to ensure freshness and sustainability.

I also incorporate unique elements like branches, berries, or succulents to add depth and interest to the arrangements. Each piece is meticulously crafted to highlight the beauty of each flower and create a cohesive look.

I am committed to sustainable practices in my floral designs. This includes using eco-friendly materials, minimizing waste, and sourcing flowers from local growers who practice sustainable farming. In summary, my approach to floral design is a blend of creativity, personalization, and sustainability.

What Do You Love About Competing?

I love competing in floral design competitions because they provide a unique opportunity to express my creativity and explore new design techniques and to connect with other talented floral designers. Seeing the incredible work of other designers during competitions is a tremendous source of inspiration.

Receiving constructive feedback from experienced judges and fellow competitors is invaluable. It helps me identify areas for improvement and grow as a designer. Winning or even participating in competitions brings a sense of achievement and recognition. The adrenaline rush of working under time constraints and the anticipation of the results make the entire experience so exciting!

In What Other Notable Competitions Have You Participated?

I had an opportunity to compete at Texas Designer of the Year twice, and submitted my works to online floral design competitions hosted by Fusion Flowers magazine and Florists Review magazine. My wearable flowers submission to Picture Perfect Wedding contest by Florists Review won 1 place and provided an opportunity to publish my work on a cover of this amazing publication this February.
