Rules & Judging Criteria

Governing rules and judging criteria of the Gateway to the Americas Cup Floral Design Competition.

Rules

  • Each competitor is allowed one designated assistant for duration of the competition.
  • Competitors are required to create five designs (tasks) within the given time frame.
  • Competitors are required to be at their competition booth 30 minutes before the start of competition.
  • No fresh product can be used during prep time
  • Staples, nails, screws and permanent glue are NOT permitted on the backdrop, floor, tables, or linens provided.
  • All props brought in by the competitor will be subject to inspection prior to competition.
  • Competitors must provide their own tools. No electricity will be available during competition.
  • Business casual attire is required.

Please note it will be very hot outdoors but the competition will be in air conditioned space which may be chilly, a sweater or light jacket is recommended.
